Favorite music

Alright its been a while since I wrote something, so I'm in the mood of writing something: Favorite music. Everyone listen to music, it would be a lie if they tell you they don't listen to music at all. Only real difference is only favorite music. I know most of people listen to what other sing, I on the other hand don't listen to mainstream music, for a lot of reason.

Mainly because its mainstream segment nature, means it meant to sound catchy without making any sense in the lyrics at all. Most improtant thing in music is the music integrate well with lyrics and voice. Not only that, I don't like lyrics being fabricated by bunch of monkeys with a pencil and a piece of paper. I wanted them to make sense, telling stories, and using words and phrases that makes me wondering all day long what they intended us to know.

My favorite music? Does Marit Larsen rings any bells? I sure most of you don't know who she is, but what about M2M? Yes the popular duo with their iconic Pretty Boy song from early 2000. She is the other half of the team, while Marion album Here I Am hovers on Malaysia radio around 2005, Marit music never penetrate anywhere here because her music is more pop folk which no one in Malaysia bother.

What so special about her music? Her lyrics, and the music. Her first album Under The Surface is simply awesome. In one word, I would describe it as magical. The music sounds sparkly and giving me impression that when she writing this song she wanted to tell us that she is having doubt about her lover but at the same time covers it with beautiful music like in Under The Surface song. That is her 2nd official video of the song, I can't find the first one. I don't like this new one, the first one is really amazing. Its weird but at the same time it somehow tells us what she felt.

That not my favorite song of the bunch, what I really like is Solid Ground. The piano at the beginning is excellent, then comes the lyrics. It tells us to keep our feet on solid ground. Somehow, after listening a lot of time, it felt like either she is giving advice to her ex duo, or she advising herself to keep herself on solid ground. Whatever it is I absolutely loved it. You can't find her album here in Malysia, because obviously no one listen to her, but I really wanted her album so I resorted buyig online. Try to guess how much damage I done to buy her album? RM100? RM150? Nope, its RM200 including shipping, the shipping price itself is higher than the CD itself so I could have it instantly, and indeed it comes all the way from Norway to here in just 3 days. Crazy? Yes I am. And that is half the story....

I started to get really hungry, haven't eaten breakfast yet. and its already noon. I'm out of ideas to wrote. So have a listen to my favorite artist of all. Next time maybe I would do her 2nd album, The Chase. That is totally different theme from Under The Surface. I will tell it next time. Till then, take care.
