Choices choices choices.....

Is there such thing as too much choice? Apparently there is such thing as too much of a choice. I just watch Discovery Science just now, and find out that human mind have a limit on how many choices they could cope, or they end up in a depression and not buying a single thing. That is exactly what I experienced!

Even typing on this keyboard is a good example, I usually use my right hand to type almost all words but the number of typos increased to nearly ever single sentence, too much to handle for one hand, so when I divided the keyboard to half the amount of typo reduces to nearly zero! Amazing!

They said that human are usually limited to around 6-7 choices, any more than that it could tun out to be a disaster. The devise a little test, first they display 24 different types of jams and let the passer by test all of them, surprisingly no one wanted to buy them! When they reduce he number of jam to only six, the number of jams thy sold increase tenfold! They tested a guy who going to buy mattress and testing 200 (!!!) mattress on one day, and when buying apartment he looking for but at the sheer number of 50 choices, and end up not buying at all despite using 20 year old mattress and living with his parent.

So the best thing we could do is limit or choices, set a certain requirement, budget and of course necessity to make our life much better. So now my mind is a little bit better knowing that I'm not alone in this world that having this problem, and in their research, 1 in 10 people suffer this kind of overchoice depression!

That guy who suffer this problem end up just buy one of them, and he say that wasn't so bad and its a 'noble' cause that he finally bought something, even though his live in one rule of 'there is such thing as perfect things' which there are aren't. Now at least I know what to buy, and know the limit of myself when it comes to making choices
